4hr trip from Yalding to East Peckham
The River Medway offers a fantastic opportunity to explore with numerous tributaries to take you off into the tranquil woodland surroundings, orchards, fields and historic villages. The area is known as the ‘Garden of England’ and it’s easy to see why…passing through overhanging willow trees and investigating hidden pools, you’ll feel as though you could be in the middle of a jungle as opposed to the middle of Kent! Remember to keep an eye out of Kingfishers as you paddle down the river, sightings are common around the area and you may even spot a Heron or maybe a Water Vole too! Take your time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings before finally ending up in East Peckham, where apparently the first speeding summons in Britain was issued, in 1896, Mr Arnold being fined 1 Shilling for doing 8 mph!
Whether you have never paddled before or you’re a regular paddler, our highly qualified instructors will ensure that everybody has a good time by adapting the trip to suit your needs and abilities.
This river trip along the River Medway is one of our many group days out on offer. Take a look at our other river trips including; the River Cuckmere, the River Arun and the River Ouse. Most rivers are tidal, meaning we can only paddle them on certain dates and times, please contact us to find out more.
